A Step in the Right Direction...

What is the one thing a women can never have enough of?
Shoes! Shoes and yes, more shoes!

Petite figures, high heels really help proportion out your body. Although try to be careful to not go too over the top when it comes to the height of the heels. Comfort is also important.
If you are petite try to avoid shoes that have ankle straps as they will make you appear shorter.

If you have rather large calves the best choice for you is low boots.

On the other hand if you have particularly skinny calves you should go for the opposite option of high leg boots.
High Leg Boots
Generally those women who are rather tall are very lucky as they can pretty much get away with any kind of shoe even those high heels which they may think are too high for them considering their own height.
If you have big feet it is advisable to stay away from pointed toed shoes as they elongate your feet and make them appear bigger.

Instead if you have rather large feet, opt for an open toe option or a squared shoe.

Suit Yourself...

Women need to look professional in the work place but it does not mean that they can't do it with a bit of style.

Some hints and tips are:
  • For a more profession and feminine look a skirt suit is great, however a trouser suit can add length to your legs.
  • Length of the skirt is important to take into consideration as well, you do not want it too be too short and give the impression your 'on the pull'. Just below your knee is considered the right height.
  • It's important that it fits properly not too tight, you don't want any embarrassing rips happening up the bottom if you bend over. It needs to be comfortable.
  • Grey, Black and Navy are the classic professional colours when suiting up. You can coordinate them more easily with a variety of blouses.
  • Quality of fabric is also important. You don't want something that looks and feels cheep. Quality lasts.
  • If your tall, dress suits with jackets with wide pockets are best for you. It creates the effect your hips are wider  making your height proportional.
  • Straight-legged trouser cut alongside pencil skirts are flattering on almost every body shape.

Finding that Perfect Dress...

If you find yourself to be top heavy, this is where your shoulders are wider than your hips do not hide away in smock dresses like this:

Theses are shapeless and will do nothing for you figure!
If your broad shouldered stay away from strapless numbers like this:

Instead go for something that has cap-sleeves to give the illusion that your shoulders are closer together and therefore giving the illusion of a more hour-glass figure.

If you have an apple shaped figure, boyish or slender then adding a belt and cinching in your waist to create curves in all the right places is a great idea:

Adding a Belt gives definition to the waist.

If you have broad shoulders you should steer clear of halterneck dresses it will just focus more attention to your shoulders. However these dresses are perfect if you have a pear shaped figure:

If your a lucky lady and have generously sized breast, then a scoop or cowl neckline is perfect for you:

V-necks are also good if you have big breast, it helps to elongate the rest of your body.

At the other end of the spectrum if you do not have any chest and have a boyish figure then a sweetheart neckline is ideal for you, and give a boost to your chest area:

If your a woman that always wished she had longer legs, well your in luck you can give the illusion that you do by wearing matching coloured shoes and tights.

Fashion Age...

Do you need to dress appropriately depending upon your age?

In today's society women have to conform to their culture to be deemed 'beautiful' and determing what is appropraite for your own style could help and that goes for all ages.
The best place to start with looking good, no matter what your age, is finding out what body shape you are and what is the best way to dress it. You can't dress all body shapes the same. What suits an apple shape figure will not flatter a pear shaped figure in the same way.

Balancing out your proportions by using fashion to trick the eye into thinking you have the idealised hourglass figure which is so coveted in today's society.
Clothes need to fit right. No matter what your age do not hide your figure under baggy clothes that will give the illusion that you are alot bigger than you really are.

Here is a model wearing a baggy clothes and most women they would kill to have a figure like hers. Yet my point remains the same even with her you cannot see her fantastic figure because it is hidden under these baggy clothes and therefore gives her an almost shapeless figure.

Here is a plus size model wearing a flattering evening gown that balances her in proportion giving the illusion of that hourglass figure as the detailing at the waist cinches her in giving it definition. Darker colours are more flattering on areas you wish to draw any attention away from. However that does not mean that your wardrobe needs to be dull. You can still wear colour and it works great when worn in the right proportions.
Depending on your age proportion of flesh on show can also become an issue. Your skins firmness needs to be taken into consideration. However this does not mean that you should not have any on show. You need to feel confortable yet sexy and for some this means showing different amounts of skin. Show off your assets in a classy way depending on your body shape. If you are an apple shape don't be afraid to get your pins on show, if your a pear perhaps be more revealing up top with your shoulders or back.
